Alerts and Messaging Terms
These terms cover the SMS and email messages Harvora sends. They form part of the Harvora Terms of Service. Harvora Limited, 368 Blockhouse Bay Rd, Auckland 0600 (support@harvora.co.nz), sends the messages.
What we send
- (a) Alerts tell you when a prediction crosses a threshold you have set or when a decision is recommended, for example a frost alert for a block.
- (b) Service messages tell you about your account, such as sign-in codes, invitations, security notices and changes to our terms.
- (c) Digests are periodic email summaries, such as a weekly summary of changes in your yield outlook.
These are service messages about the platform you use. We do not send marketing through alerts. If we ever send marketing, we will ask for your separate consent and include an unsubscribe option in every message, as the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 requires.
Your consent to SMS
We send alert texts only to a New Zealand mobile number that has been verified with a one-time code. By confirming the code, you agree to receive alert and service texts from Harvora at that number. Changing your number ends consent for the old one, and you need to verify the new number before we text it.
Our texts begin with the sender name, "Harvora", and our alert texts end with "Reply STOP to opt out."
Opting out
- (a) SMS: reply STOP to any text. We stop alert texts to that number straight away.
- (b) Email alerts and digests: use the unsubscribe link in the message or change your preferences in your account settings.
- (c) Thresholds, channels and quiet hours: you can change these at any time in alert settings.
You will still receive security and account messages that we need to send to run your account, unless you close the account.
How often
How many alerts you receive depends on your thresholds and on conditions. You can set quiet hours in your alert settings. The optional evening briefing, if you turn it on, is sent at the time you choose, even during quiet hours. We may also send an alert during quiet hours where waiting would close the window to act on it.
Cost
Harvora does not charge you separately for alerts. Your mobile provider may charge you for receiving texts.
Alerts are not guaranteed
Alerts depend on telephone and internet networks, mobile carriers, and our messaging providers (Amazon Web Services for SMS and email). A message may be delayed, filtered or not delivered, and a prediction may change after an alert is sent.
Do not treat alerts as your only way to monitor frost or other critical conditions. You remain responsible for watching conditions and for your decisions. Our liability for late or missed alerts is limited as the Terms of Service state.
Your responsibilities
- (a) Keep your phone number and email address current.
- (b) Only register a number or email address for a person who has agreed to receive Harvora alerts.
- (c) Do not use alerts or the alert channels for anything other than monitoring your own operation.
We may change alert channels, content, timing and defaults, suspend alerts to an address or number that bounces, is reported or is misused, or withdraw alerts on the notice the Terms of Service require.
Your information
We share your phone number, email address and message content with Amazon Web Services to deliver messages. We keep a minimal delivery record, which may be kept for up to 24 months. The Privacy Policy gives the details.
